Now that February is almost over, and as we welcome March, I can’t help but think of ways to refresh my environment to welcome Spring. Though we still have a few weeks of cold, I figured that beginning to think about Spring resets does not hurt, and gives us time to prep for when the time comes!

Start by swapping out heavy winter items for lighter, breathable fabrics. Store thick blankets and bring out cotton or linen throws, rotate your wardrobe, and donate anything you no longer use to local mutual aid groups or shelters. When choosing storage bins or organizers, opt for secondhand or durable materials to reduce waste.

Next, rethink your cleaning routine. Many conventional products contain animal-derived ingredients or are tested on animals, but plant-based, cruelty-free cleaners are just as effective. Simple DIY options, like vinegar, baking soda, and lemon, can tackle everything from countertops to windows while keeping your home toxin-free and eco-friendly.

Spring is also a great time to add life to your space. Open your curtains for natural light, propagate plants from cuttings, or bring home a low-maintenance houseplant to brighten your room and improve air quality. If you’re decorating, look for thrifted pieces, vegan candles, or textiles made from sustainable fibers.

Finally, reset your shared spaces with intention. Create a small entryway station for reusable bags, set up a visible recycling system, and designate a spot for items you plan to repair rather than replace. These small changes make sustainable living more convenient and part of your everyday routine.
