NJveg Guidelines

In order to avoid any surprises, please review our guidelines for various events.

All NJveg events are completely vegan (plant-based), so everyone can enjoy the food.

Restaurant trips:

Reservations must be placed with NJveg directly (not with the restaurant), at least 48 hours before the event unless otherwise noted.  Out of fairness to the restaurant, cancellations are requested at least 24 hours in advance.  Please plan to be able to pay in cash.  When we dine at non-vegan restaurants, only vegan dishes may be ordered.

Potlucks:

Each individual in your party (with the exception of children under 12) brings a vegan (No meat, fish, dairy, eggs, gelatin, or honey) dish to share that will feed at least 6 people, along with the recipe or a list of ingredients.  To ensure there is enough food for everyone, please bring at least as much as your family is going to eat.  NJveg provides beverages, so please provide a food contribution.  To promote recycling (and save you money), NJveg encourages you to bring your own plate, cup, and utensils if possible (extra place settings will be available).  For safety reasons, children under 12 must be under parental supervision at all times.  Please make sure to check in when you arrive.

Not sure what to bring?  Easy options include:  garden salad, fruit salad, hummus with chips or crudités.  A plethora of vegan recipes are available via an online search.  Contact us at NJveg.org@gmail.com or 609-557-7077 (text preferred) for more suggestions.

Please note that there may be a nominal fee (with NJveg members receiving a discount) when a venue rental is involved.
