Events-2023

NJveg Prior Events – 2023

Everyone is welcome at NJveg events:  vegan, vegetarian, or veg-curious!  Our events are open to the public, except when noted as members only.

The following is a listing of our previous events from 2023, for reference.  Indoor dining events were restricted during the pandemic, but we still managed to have a lot of fun and safe activities!

Hiking + Dining – Morris County
Sunday January 15, 11am
Lewis Morris Park, Mendham, NJ 07960

The 56th in NJveg’s hiking/walking + vegan dining series will start at Lewis Morris Park (trail map).  This is a makeup for a twice-postponed event.  We’ll meet at the Sunrise Lake parking area (map coordinates 40.788, -74.543) and plan on hiking 4 – 5 miles.  Let us know which restaurant you’re interested in for lunch!  Inclement weather (precipitation, extreme cold, snow- or ice-covered trails) date TBD.

Please RSVP to NJveg.org@gmail.com, or 609-557-7077 (text preferred).

Educational Outreach – Vegan in NJ Monthly Market
Sunday January 8, Noon-5pm
American Legion Post 346, 21 Gully Rd, Neptune City NJ 07753

NJveg will answer questions and provide free literature on the benefits of a plant-based diet.  We need volunteers for this and other outreach.  Come out for an hour, or the entire event.  Help spread the word that going vegan saves animals, protects the environment, and improves your health!  No experience is necessary.  We particularly need help setting up (at 11:30am) and packing up (to about 5:30pm).

If you’re interested in joining NJveg’s outreach team, please contact us at NJveg.org@gmail.com or 609-557-7077 (text preferred).

Hamilton, NJ 08610

The 55th in NJveg’s hiking/walking + vegan dining series (and our 3rd annual New Year’s Day hike) will start at John A. Roebling Memorial Park (info) in Hamilton.  Let us know what restaurant you’re interested in – one that is open on New Year’s Day!  We’ll meet at the Spring Lake parking lot on Sewell Ave (map coordinates 40.195223, -74.732035).
