NJveg Prior Events – 2022
Everyone is welcome at NJveg events: vegan, vegetarian, or veg-curious! Our events are open to the public, except when noted as members only.
The following is a listing of our previous events from 2022, for reference. Indoor dining events were restricted during the pandemic, but we still managed to have a lot of fun and safe activities!
Volunteer Work Day – Freedom Farm Animal Rescue

Join NJveg for a New Year’s Eve volunteer work day! This is a joint event with Vegan in NJ. We’ll be traveling to Cumberland County to help out at the non-profit Freedom Farm Animal Rescue. If you’d like to make a donation to Freedom Farm, you can do so in person or online. Please sign up only if you are serious about attending and plan to attend for the full 10-2pm. If anything comes up and you need to cancel, let us know ASAP, so that we may fill your spot. If you want to bring your children, they must be 14 or older. We highly recommend bringing a water bottle, bug spray, sunblock, work gloves, work boots, and clothes that can get dirty.

Join NJveg for a vegan potluck pool party! This event will be outdoors at a private home. NJveg members only; children welcome. There’s a pool and a river, so bring bathing suits, towel, and sturdy water shoes to walk in river (not flip flops).

The 48th in our series will start at the Jockey Hollow unit of Morristown National Historical Park (info, trail map). We’ll meet at the Jockey Hollow Visitor Center, 586 Tempe Wick Road, Morristown NJ 07960. We’ll hike the 6.5 mile Grand Loop Trail, about 2.5 hours. Let us know what restaurant you’re interested in!

The 44th in our series will be our first evening hike, at the Mount Rose Preserve (info, GPS coordinates 40°21’45.1″N 74°44’16.0″W). There are ~3 miles of trails. As the trails were quite overgrown, we walked several miles on the adjacent segment of the Lawrence-Hopewell Trail instead.

Members-Only Potluck Lawn Party

Join NJveg for a vegan potluck lawn party. This event will be outdoors at a private home. The bathroom will be available, along with the kitchen for heating food (masks, but no shoes when in the house). NJveg members only; please contact us if you would like to bring your child; no pets.
Please bring your plate and utensils, and most importantly, a chair or blanket. An extra chair would be appreciated as well. We can go for a short hike along Lake Carnegie and the D&R Canal before or after eating. Space is limited. Review NJveg’s potluck guidelines.

(Bernardsville Centre, 80 Morristown Rd, Bernardsville, NJ 07924).
