NJveg is an all-volunteer non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation in New Jersey. Our mission: vegan advocacy, education on plant-based diet benefits, volunteering & social events
The 112th in NJveg’s hiking/walking + vegan dining series will start at Turkey Swamp Park (brochure, trail info). We’ll meet at the Oak Point parking area, north of the lake.![]()
Afterward, we’ll head to the Vegan in NJ Monthly Market (at American Legion Post 346, 21 Gully Rd, Neptune Township, NJ 07753) for dining and shopping.![]()

If there’s a lot of rain prior, we may move the hike to Shark River Park (as Turkey Swamp Park can be quite wet). If there’s rain forecast on Sunday, we’ll head to the market at noon with the hike rain date TBD. We’ll update here accordingly.![]()

NJveg (@vegnj) had a volunteer work day on Saturday November 22, helping the vegan nonprofit sanctuary The Barnyard Sanctuary (@barnyardsanctuary) in Hope. It was one of our largest work days, with 17 volunteers! We raked and shoveled the large goat, sheep, donkey, and alpaca field, cleaned out a donated shed, and made some minor repairs.
